The Roman Catholic parish church of St Peter in Herchen, a district of the municipality of Windeck, was first mentioned in 1131 and confirmed by Pope Innocent II - the Bonn Cassius Monastery as a tithing church. It is not known exactly when the first and/or the current church were built.
