First, the access path leads over the Kelterser Berg to the main path. It then climbs up to Oberbohlscheid, where views open up over the surrounding fields and meadows as well as the elevations of the Bergisches Land. The path leads up and down through mixed woodland and the sometimes mighty holly trees, which do not thrive everywhere in Germany but find an ideal habitat here, are always conspicuous. Above Oberottersbach, forests and meadows alternate - wonderful views of the valley. You circle Rieferath on beautiful paths and forest trails through deciduous forests alternating with sparse woodland areas. A new forest is also gradually growing in the Kaltbach valley after the loss of spruce forests. Shortly before the small Kaltbach flows into the Sieg, you cross the narrow Dehlenbach valley on a narrow path. You climb steeply uphill to the strawberry fields and apple orchards of the “Appelhof” before following an oppressive trace of the past: a so-called Thingplatz, a theater-like meeting place built by the National Socialists, combined with a memorial to the fallen of the First World War. The route then leads to Herchen via an elevated path above the Siegschleife.
