From Europaplatz we walk a short distance along Neue Poststrasse. Then turn right onto the towpath and follow the course of the Siegburger Mühlengraben. The first highlight shortly afterwards is climbing the Michaelsberg with the former abbey, from there you have a great view over the Rhine Valley and the Siebengebirge. Along the Mühlengraben it goes up towards the two Wolsberge. At the Wolsberg, like the Michaelsberg of volcanic origin, you reach the blue-marked main path. A beautiful path circles the striking basalt tuff cone. After an underpass, the beautiful “Alexianerallee” leads you straight to a former manor from the 14th century. Through mixed forest and past a biotope, the village of Kaldauen is almost completely circled on narrow forest paths and paths until the path branches off at a refuge in the direction of Seligenthal Monastery. The former monastery complex was founded in the middle of the 13th century as the first Franciscan monastery north of the Alps. If you take a detour to the dam of the Wahnbachtalsperre, about 500 m away, you can enjoy a great view. A beautiful path leads back through the quiet valley past the Johannisbrünnchen to former vineyard terraces with orchards. Here you can enjoy panoramic views over the Siegtal to the Siebengebirge. Through the Siegauen you reach the city center of Hennef on a dam.
