Die Freizeitanlage Ohler Wiesen - ein Ort zum Verweilen.
The Ohler Wiesen recreation area is a little gem not far from the city centre of Wipperfürth that can be reached from Lüdenscheider Straße. It is a small city park that invites young and old to linger for a while. Many parents accompany their little children as they play in the playground, and it’s not just fathers who attend the home games of Wipperfürth’s biggest football club at the sports field on Sundays. Many older people simply go for a stroll along the may well-maintained green pathways bordered with flowers. Heading east, there is even an adjoining riding ground and indoor arena.
The facility is also an ideal starting point for a cycle tour along the “Wasserquintett” cycle route, which is about 80 km long and passes by five valley reservoirs, as well as a lovely place to take a break from your cycle tour on the “Bergische Panoramaradweg".
The Hanseatic city of Wipperfürth is a city of greenery. You will notice this in particular is you gaze out over the city from one of the many hills around the city centre - not to mention the beautiful landscape, much of which is used for agriculture and forestry.
