Canoe tours for people and dogs
Dear dog lovers and water rats!
The dog canoe is a very special experience for humans and dogs! Guided by the Colonia dog school, you will ride side by side with your best friend in an original touring canoe.
After a short introduction for four-legged and two-legged friends, we set off together on an exciting adventure on the water and enjoy nature. Once we arrive at our destination, we end the day with a barbecue together while the dogs play or - depending on their mood - relax.

Sieg pure nature tour
Our short trip on the beautiful Sieg begins at the idyllic Happach campsite in Eitorf. Here our fur noses can run free and get used to the canoes on land.
Following extensive nature conservation measures in recent decades, the middle course of the river we are traveling on has been transformed back into an exemplary natural region. The Sieg is one of the rivers with the most fish in Germany. Even salmon have been reintroduced here. The many fish attract numerous water birds, such as grey herons, cormorants and kingfishers. Various species of crayfish and amphibians also live in and along the Sieg.
There are a striking number of beautiful dragonfly species along our route. Due to the slower flow speed of the Sieg, the surface is mirror-smooth in some places and you paddle through a unique atmosphere. There is a lot to see for our four-legged friends and this shared experience strengthens the relationship between humans and dogs. In the clear water, you can observe the underwater vegetation swaying like grass in the wind. In other places, our route offers small rapids for the action lovers.
From our exit point near Haus Attenbach in Blankenberg, we return together to the Happach campsite and barbecue right by the Sieg.
For all river tours, we recommend only one dog per canoe if you have a medium-sized or large dog. This is especially true if you are a beginner canoeist. If you have a little more canoeing experience and are confident, you can take on more. We will definitely fish you out of the water again.
Basically, it is an easy and interesting canoe route. It is suitable for human-dog teams who have never canoed before and is also interesting for experienced canoeists.
Duration of the tour: approx. 2.5-3 hours on the water, depending on group size and experience. The whole trip takes approx. 6 hours.
