Galileum Solingen

Short facts

  • Solingen

A journey to the stars in the Bergisches Land | Galileum Solingen What did the sky look like when you were born? Where is the Milky Way? And what is the Big Bang all about? The Galileum Solingen, which is named after the famous astronomer Galileo Galilei, takes you on a journey through time to distant galaxies.

Reaching for the stars at the Galileum

Make yourself comfortable in the cosy seats under the large planetarium dome and let yourself be transported to different places on our planet thanks to state-of-the-art projection – anywhere and at any given time. This destination is suitable for a visit with the whole family and has magical moments waiting for explorers both young and old. From classic astro shows to children's programmes and live concerts to science lectures, it’s all here.

However, it’s not just the distant worlds that are fantastic, the place where the planetarium with adjoining observatory is located is great too. It has taken up residence in a decommissioned spherical gas tank. For a donation, you can symbolically secure your very own celestial body from over 8,500 stars in the planetarium sky.
