Burg Chair Lift

Short facts

  • Solingen

The most comfortable route to Schloss Burg

Quietly and at a leisurely pace, the chairs float up from the Wupper over the steep slope up to Burg. The 1952 chair lift was the first of its kind and still runs like clockwork today. On the way up, close to the slope, you initially float over dense brambles and then over a small goat field before reaching the top station. If you have booked a return trip, a spectacular view of the Bergisches Land awaits. You need a good head for heights though.
Please note that the top station has no disabled access; there are 36 steps to climb.

Cyclists take note: Your bike (No e-bike) can also be transported to the top station on the chair lift. Simply talk to one of the team on site.
