Eine entsprechende Umleitung ist ausgeschildert. Siehe Karte zum Download. Die Umleitung besteht voraussichtlich bis Mitte 2026. (Stand: 02.05.2023) Die Wupper-Runde ist ein etwa 44 km langer Rundweg.
The Wupper-Runde (Wupper Loop) is a 44 km loop trail that connects the Balkantrasse Panorama Cycle Trail via the Bergisch hills to the idyllic Wupper valley. It passes attractive sights such as Burg Castle and the blossom town of Leichlingen, known as the Bergisch fruit loft. Pure nature can be experienced in the Wupper valley between Solingen-Burg and Leichlingen. Magnificent views over the renatured Wupper river landscape with its rich diversity of species, interspersed with mills and hammers like the Wipperkotten, where the last Solinger grinder is still powered by water today. Cyclists on a tour of discovery will also come across the person who gave the Bergisches Land its name - Burg Castle, the seat of the Count of Berg, is a must for a day trip in the Bergisches Land.
During the summer months from March to October, the "Bergische FahrradBus" or Bergisch bike bus, runs between Leverkusen-Opladen and Marienheide. For anyone who only wants to cycle a part of the Wupper-Runde (Wupper Loop), it’s possible to travel back on the bike bus from Burscheid or Wermelskirchen. Up to 20 bikes can be transported at the same time on the bus trailer. Further information can be found at www.bergischer-fahrradbus.de.
