ESCHBACH VALLEY EXPERIENCE TRAIL: HIKE FROM UNTERBURG TO THE ESCHBACH RESERVOIR
Lots of water, art and testaments to industrial beginnings
The Eschbach meanders through a lovely valley. Cut deep in the landscape and seemingly made for those seeking nature in all its glory, the Eschbach Valley Adventure Trail leads you to exciting evidence of early industry, artistic water formations and the Eschbach reservoir.
Genuine natural beauty
Enjoy the beautiful valley landscape on your hike, which opens up magnificently and then narrows into gorges again. Depending on the water level, rocks invite you to linger a while on the banks of the Eschbach.
The magic of the past
The route is littered with cottages that were once home to blacksmiths, hammers and mills. Swords, daggers, scythes and files were made here in the past using water power. Today, the historic production facilities cast a spell with their enthralling charm.
Experience up close and marvel
The historic buildings are interspersed with lovingly designed works of art. An ear trumpet and periscope allow you to experience how the water in the river rushes past you.
At the end of the hiking route, your gaze falls on the water once again. A large body of water. The Eschbach reservoir. Germany's oldest drinking water reservoir is surrounded by wonderful forest and offers an enchanting sight.
