Munsterplatz in Remscheid-Lennep with sculpture by Tony Cragg

Short facts

  • Remscheid

On Munsterplatz in Remscheid-Lennep is the almost three and a half metre high curved stainless steel sculpture "The Path" by Tony Cragg.

The artist, Tony Cragg, who was born in England and has lived and worked in Wuppertal for many years, refers to pilgrimage with this sculpture. This sculpture is "an image of a path that winds its way across a topography". The reference to pilgrimage is geographically appropriate, as the Bergische Jakobsweg runs through Lennep.

The polished, silvery stainless steel makes the sculpture appear to shimmer in many facets and lends the newly designed square a special atmosphere.

More sculptures by Tony Cragg can be found in the Waldfrieden sculpture park in Wuppertal, a 14-hectare site where sculptures by Tony Cragg and selected artists enchant visitors at all times of the year.
