On the road where trains used to run

You are not the most experienced cyclist and have respect for the climbs in the Bergisches Land? Or you just want to cycle relaxed away from the traffic with the family?

Then we recommend the varied cycle paths on the former railroad lines in the nature park - here you can make kilometers in a relaxed way:
On our 6 railway line cycle paths

  • Panoramaradweg Balkantrasse (Balkantrasse Panorama Cycle Trail)
  • Bergische Panoramaradweg (Bergisch Panorama Cycle Trail)
  • Bergisch Panorama Cycle Trail Stage Agger – Dörspe
  • Sülzbahn route
  • Samba route
  • Tool route

you do not need to be afraid of large inclines, because railroads at that time could not transport the produced industrial goods from the Bergisches Land over steep climbs. Therefore, the railroad routes were planned very precisely so that hardly any gradients had to be overcome. And that is exactly what you can enjoy today in a variety of ways. You can cycle through the countryside away from busy roads or take the next exit that connects villages along the route.

Got a taste for it? Then take a look at the tours below or you have the possibility to find more on the subject of just cycle bergisch just follow the link.
